LAKELAND, Fla. – A morning motorcycle crash in Lakeland has left two Riverview residents seriously injured after the rider reportedly ran a red light and struck a median curb on Saturday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, the incident occurred at approximately 10:50 a.m.
A Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by a 44-year-old Riverview man, was traveling westbound on SR-570 and exiting onto the ramp to Lakeland Highlands Road. The FHP states that the motorcycle entered the intersection despite the traffic signal being red.

The motorcycle then collided with a curb in the center median. The force of the impact ejected both the driver and his passenger, a 49-year-old Riverview woman, from the bike.
Both individuals suffered serious injuries in the crash. They were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
