PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – The Pinellas Park Police Department has launched an investigation into a fatal crash involving a 2017 Volkswagen SUV and a 2021 motorcycle. The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the intersection of 66th Street North and 94th Avenue North.
The crash took place when the white Volkswagen SUV, traveling southbound in the left-turn lane of 66th Street North, attempted to turn east onto 94th Avenue North. A motorcycle was traveling northbound on 66th Street North at the same time.
The Volkswagen turned into the path of the motorcycle, resulting in a collision on the SUV’s front passenger side.

The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital and later died from injuries sustained in the accident. The rider’s identity was not released.
Police investigators have determined that speed and impairment were not factors in the collision. The driver of the Volkswagen was issued a citation at the scene.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the northbound lanes of 66th Street North remain closed at 94th Avenue North while the investigation continues.
