Mount Dora Man Arrested, Nearly 14 Ounces Of Cocaine Seized During Florida Keys Traffic Stop

A Mount Dora man is behind bars after a late-night traffic stop in the Florida Keys uncovered a massive haul of narcotics early Monday morning.

Just after 1 a.m. on April 20, 2026, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies pulled over a Ford pickup truck near Mile Marker 83 on U.S. 1.

According to investigators, the truck was being driven erratically, which prompted the initial stop. The situation quickly escalated when deputies spotted suspected drugs sitting in plain view inside the cabin.

A thorough search of the vehicle followed, revealing a significant amount of contraband. Deputies seized approximately 380.57 grams of cocaine—roughly 13.4 ounces—along with 2.5 grams of methamphetamine.

The search also turned up two glass bongs, a knife coated in cocaine residue, and various other drug paraphernalia.

The driver, 43-year-old Matt Colby Lowe, was arrested on the scene. Authorities stated that Lowe admitted the items were his. An adult male was in the passenger seat at the time of the stop, but he was not arrested.

Lowe now faces a list of serious charges, including cocaine trafficking, possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to a local jail for processing.
