MTG Notes “Two-Tiered” Mainstream Media And Justice System After Death-Threat Perp Pleads Out

Last month a near-weepy Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell complained about getting “death threats.”

His complaints arose after Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy said the left-winger should be booted from his post on the Intelligence Committee after an affair with a Chinese spy.

In response to Swalwell’s whining, GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene noted that because of Democratic and media “lies” about her, she constantly receives death threats.

And unlike with Swalwell, someone is going to prison for threatening Greene.

The Post Millennial reported on Thursday that a New York man, Joseph Morelli, pled guilty to menacing Greene with murderous threats.

He did so on at least three occasions in 2022, with voicemails made on Greene’s office phone line.

In one instance, Morelli said, “I’m gonna have to take your life into my own hands… I’m gonna hurt you. Physically, I’m gonna harm you.”

In a second voicemail the same day, Morelli added, “I’m gonna have to show you, to your face, right up front, what violence truly is, and I don’t think you’re gonna like it.… I can pay someone 500 bucks to take a baseball bat and crack your skull. …You are going to get f—ing physically hurt.”

Morelli left a third message, which said, “You’re gonna cause people to get hurt, so I’m gonna have to hurt you physically. … I’m gonna make sure that, even if they lock me up, someone’s gonna get you ‘cause I’ll pay them to.”

Morelli now faces up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and supervised release for up to three additional years.

While her point was vindicated, and a seemingly potential violent actor is headed to prison, Greene was upset that Morelli isn’t already behind bars.

Morelli was allowed to remain at home until his June 1 sentencing.

On Twitter, Greene noted,  “A man pleads guilty for planning to kill me or paying someone to do it. Now he’s at home, able to do it while awaiting sentencing.”

“But a guy who sat at [former Democratic House Speaker] Pelosi’s desk faces 20 years & people who walked into the Capitol on J6 are rotting in jail pretrial,” Greene added.

“The press keeps asking me about threats against [Democratic] Rep. [Ilhan] Omar, but none of them knew about this guilty plea for a threat against my life,” Greene added. “Multiple people who want to kill me have been arrested, but the DC media doesn’t report it. It’s two-tiered justice and two-tiered coverage.”
