HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – U.S. Navy veteran Brian Lambert officially launched his campaign Monday for Florida’s 14th Congressional District, entering the race with a platform centered on constitutional limits, government accountability, and veteran advocacy.
Lambert, who spent 20 years in the armed services, announced his run on July 20, citing his military background and post-service work as a father, youth coach, and community volunteer as the foundation for his decision to seek public office.
“For twenty years, I served our country in the United States Navy,” Lambert said in his announcement statement. “That service taught me that leadership begins with responsibility, that every decision has consequences, and that an oath is more than something you say once. That oath has no expiration.”
Outlining his reasons for entering the contest, Lambert highlighted economic pressures on local families, bureaucratic obstacles facing military veterans, and federal regulations affecting small businesses. He argued that government institutions have become increasingly disconnected from everyday citizens.
“I am not running to become a career politician,” Lambert stated. “I am running because our children deserve better than the country we are currently poised to hand them.”
Lambert framed his platform around three core principles: Life, Liberty, and Voice. He pledged to evaluate all federal legislation strictly through a constitutional lens, promising to make adherence to the U.S. Constitution his primary benchmark for every vote.
“Every bill I consider will begin with one question: Is this constitutional?” Lambert said. “This campaign will not be about Left versus Right. Freedom is not Left or Right. It is American.”
Addressing the road ahead, Lambert acknowledged the competitive nature of running for federal office in the district but emphasized his commitment to accountability and individual liberty.
“This race will be difficult. Real change always is,” Lambert said. “But I have never believed that difficult means impossible. Together, we can restore accountability, defend individual liberty, and give the people of this district a real voice in Washington.”
