When authorities received a copy of the deceased child’s Autopsy Report from the Clark County Coroner’s Office, they learned that the child’s cause of death was “a result of fentanyl toxicity” with another significant condition of “recent methamphetamine exposure.”
BCPD Detectives conducted interviews with both parents.
During their respective interviews, both parents disclosed that the child had been exposed to a mixture of methamphetamine and fentanyl after the father had spilled a bag of fentanyl mixed with methamphetamine on their bed, and later allowed the child to crawl on the same bed where the substances were spilled.
On June 15, 2023, the Boulder City Police Department obtained arrest warrants for both parents on a charge of 2nd Degree Murder. This charge is based upon their making available a controlled substance resulting in death.
BCPD Officers arrested both parents on murder warrants and transported them to the Clark County Detention Center.
