HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla – Dana Galen, the newly elected Chairman of the Hillsborough County Republican Party (HCRP), had the honor of accepting 45 new members into the party.
The Hillsborough County Republican Executive Committee (HCREC) elected Galen on December 8th, 2022, as its first black Chairman.
The January 12th monthly meeting was Galen’s first time leading the party’s business.
In addition to the election of new members, Galen proposed the appointments of new committees and chairs which was approved unanimously.
According to the HCRP, presentations were made to the members on how to increase participation in the precincts across the county, and strategies were discussed for the upcoming Tampa Mayoral and City Council races.

The November elections restored the balance of power in the Board of County Commissioners to the Republican Party and swept the majority of the races across the county.
Within the Republican Party, Hillsborough County ranked number one among all counties of the nation for knocking on doors and getting out the vote. Building upon the successes of the November elections, there is genuine hope for Republican representation on the Tampa City Council.
With the new injection of energetic members who are concerned about the direction the nation is headed, there are great expectations for the future of our children and the county as a whole.
Governor DeSantis, in his recent inaugural address, declared “The Free State of Florida” was the land of liberty and sanity.
That is also Dana Galen’s desire for Hillsborough County, according to Hillsborough County Republican Party.
