Born and raised in Manatee County, Hoeksema has been a committed member of the Bradenton community all his life. Hoeksema’s path to Chick-fil-A leadership began with his first job at Chick-fil-A at the DeSoto Square Mall in June of 1993.
After serving as a Team Member and interim manager at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Naples, Hoeksema eventually became an Operator back in his hometown at the same mall location where his career began.
In 2013, after operating the mall location for 10 years, Hoeksema opened his current restaurant, Chick-fil-A Cortez Plaza. He will remain the Operator at Chick-fil-A Cortez Plaza in addition to Chick-fil-A Manatee & 43rd.
“Our restaurant has experienced so much growth over the years thanks to the unwavering support we receive here in Bradenton,” said Hoeksema. “This second location will give us an opportunity to better serve our guests and to really be what we’ve always wanted to be: a community-focused restaurant.”
In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the
new restaurant. These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Tampa-St. Petersburg area to aid in the fight against hunger.
In addition, Chick-fil-A Manatee & 43rd is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Bradenton area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A meals for a year. Hoeksema’s restaurant plans to participate in Chick-fil-A Shared Table®, an initiative that redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks, and nonprofits in need.
To date, more than 18 million meals have been served nationwide from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations.
