New Poll Shows Florida Rep. Byron Donalds Topping Potential Democratic Rivals

A fresh survey released Tuesday by Echelon Insights indicates that Congressman Byron Donalds has established a clear lead in the race for Florida Governor, outpacing top potential Democratic challengers in head-to-head matchups. The data shows Donalds holding a six-point lead over David Jolly, 49% to 43%, and a four-point advantage over Jerry Demings, 48% to 44%.

The poll results follow earlier data suggesting Donalds holds a commanding position within the Republican primary field. The Naples-based Republican has leveraged a high-profile endorsement from President Donald J. Trump to consolidate support across the state’s conservative base.

“Byron Donalds is the only candidate in this race who can defeat any Democrat, unite Republicans, and defend the Florida Dream for our families, seniors, and young people,” said Ryan Smith, Chief Strategist for the Byron Donalds for Governor Campaign. Smith added that the campaign remains focused on issues of affordability and safety, claiming that “Florida voters will vote for Byron Donalds and his positive vision to lead Florida forward in November.”

The momentum behind the Donalds campaign is reflected in a growing list of endorsements from across the political and private sectors.

Along with Trump, Donalds has secured backing from Elon Musk, U.S. House Leadership, and Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who became the first sitting governor to endorse his bid this week.

In Florida, the support is equally concentrated. Donalds has gained the approval of 27 Florida sheriffs, 17 members of the state’s congressional delegation, and 75% of the Republican caucus in the Florida House.

With strong fundraising numbers and consistent polling leads, Donalds enters the next phase of the race as the statistical frontrunner to succeed Governor Ron DeSantis. The Democratic field continues to shift as candidates weigh their options against Donalds’ current polling strength.
