NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – A morning shooting near Gulf Middle School on Wednesday led to a localized lockdown and the arrest of two individuals, according to the New Port Richey Police Department.
The incident, which occurred around 7:25 a.m. on April 15, 2026, unfolded near the intersection of Louisiana Avenue and Colonial Drive. Emergency responders discovered a juvenile female at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds.
She was immediately transported to a local hospital, where officials confirmed she remains in stable condition.
While the investigation is ongoing, police have taken two people into custody who were present at the scene. Dylan Styles, 30, was arrested on multiple outstanding felony warrants originating from Pasco County.

Nikki Marie Green, 38, faces several new charges including two counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, violation of probation, and resisting an officer without violence.
The proximity of the gunfire to the middle school prompted an initial security response, but authorities moved quickly to secure the area. The New Port Richey Police Department stated that “the scene has been secured, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.”
Following the arrests and the securing of the perimeter, all surrounding schools were cleared to resume normal operations without further restriction. Detectives continue to process evidence from the scene as they work to determine the exact circumstances that led to the shooting.
