New Port Richey Woman Dies After Striking Parked Police Cruiser And Truck On Motorcycle

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – A late-night crash in a residential New Port Richey neighborhood has claimed the life of a local motorcyclist. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at approximately 8:13 PM.

The crash involved a 29-year-old woman from New Port Richey who was riding a Honda motorcycle northbound on Sequoia Drive. For reasons investigators have yet to determine, the woman lost control of her bike just north of the Cherrytree Lane intersection.

The motorcycle veered off the asphalt and into a private driveway, where two vehicles were parked.

The motorcycle first slammed into a Ford F-150. The force of that initial collision was strong enough to shove the pickup truck forward into a New Port Richey Police Department Ford Explorer, which was also parked in the driveway.

State troopers confirmed that both the truck and the police cruiser were unoccupied and legally parked at the time of the accident.

Emergency responders arrived on the scene and rushed the woman to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save her, the Florida Highway Patrol reports that she later passed away from the injuries she sustained in the wreck.

Investigators have not released the rider’s identity.
