Domestic Dispute Leads to Aggravated Assault, Battery Charges
MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – A New York man was arrested Thursday in Key Largo after allegedly assaulting another man with a brick during a domestic disturbance. Brian Thomas Gardner, 26, of Bohemia, New York, faces charges of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and criminal mischief.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call regarding a domestic disturbance at a residence on Ruby Drive at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Upon arrival, the victim told deputies that Gardner had threatened him and struck him with a brick during an argument. The dispute reportedly stemmed from the suspect’s alleged alcohol use. In addition to the assault, Gardner is accused of using the brick to break a glass door at the residence.
Authorities reported that the victim did not sustain any life-threatening injuries. Gardner was taken into custody and transported to jail.
