NewsNation has officially claimed the title of the fastest-growing network in primetime, according to new Nielsen Big Data + Panel figures released Wednesday.
The Chicago-based network saw a massive surge in March, outpacing not just its cable news rivals like CNN and Fox News, but also major broadcast giants including ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC.
During the 8-11 p.m. ET primetime window, the network’s total audience grew by 85% compared to March 2025, reaching an average of 191,000 viewers. Even more striking was the 100% jump in the coveted Adults 25-54 demographic.
This momentum has pushed NewsNation to the #35 spot in all of ad-supported cable, a climb of 60 positions since the channel rebranded five years ago. This month, the network pulled ahead of long-standing names like CNBC, Fox Business, and National Geographic in total primetime viewership.

The growth was visible across the entire daily schedule, with every program airing between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. ET recording double or triple-digit gains. CUOMO, hosted by Chris Cuomo, kept its spot as the network’s heavy hitter, drawing 289,000 total viewers and seeing a 114% spike in the 25-54 age group. Meanwhile, The Hill with Blake Burman led the pack in overall viewer growth, skyrocketing 157% compared to the same time last year.
Other evening programs also posted significant numbers. On Balance with Leland Vittert grew its total audience by 100%, while Elizabeth Vargas Reports saw its demo audience surge by 173%.
Newer additions to the lineup, including Katie Pavlich Tonight and Jesse Weber Live, also contributed to the upward trend, with Pavlich’s show growing its key demographic by 150% in its second full month on air.
Across the entire day, NewsNation averaged 101,000 viewers, marking an 87% increase over its performance last year.
It’s notable that, per Nielsen Media Research, FOX News drew 2.99 million viewers during Monday-Sunday primetime.
