NewsNation is carrying significant momentum into 2026, posting impressive gains across its programming schedule to start the year. The network reported double-digit growth this January, particularly hitting the mark with the coveted 25–54 demographic that advertisers prize most.

Driven by a mix of primetime hits and daytime reliability, the channel is steadily carving out a larger slice of the cable news audience with a 13% increase in younger viewers during the 8 to 11 p.m. block compared to last year.

The primetime lineup was a standout performer, anchored by CUOMO at 8 p.m. ET. Chris Cuomo’s hour remained the network’s most-watched program, drawing 188,000 total viewers and securing its second-highest-rated month on record.

Following immediately at 9 p.m., On Balance with Leland Vittert saw an explosive 86% surge in the key demographic year-over-year. That marks the show’s best month ever for the 25–54 audience, proving that the network’s evening strategy is resonating with a growing fanbase.

This upward trend wasn’t limited to evening opinion shows; daytime and weekend programming saw similar success. NewsNation Live with Marni Hughes achieved its highest viewership to date at 9 a.m., up 28% from January 2025.

Weekends proved equally strong, with The Hill Sunday with Chris Stirewalt climbing 59% in total viewers for a record-breaking month.

Meanwhile, NewsNation Live with Laura Ingle also reached a new high, capping off a month of broad expansion for the rising network.
