PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Drivers traveling through Pasco County should prepare for a temporary detour tonight as road crews shut down an interstate access point.
The westbound State Road 52 entrance ramp onto northbound Interstate 75 is scheduled to close between 8 p.m. and midnight on Sunday, August 23, weather permitting. Eastbound SR 52 traffic heading toward northbound I-75 will not be affected and is planned to remain open throughout the work window.
To navigate around the four-hour closure, westbound motorists will be directed to continue past the shut ramp and take the “loop” entrance ramp onto southbound I-75 instead. From there, drivers will travel south to Exit 282, head east on Overpass Road across the interstate, and make a left turn to access the northbound I-75 on-ramp.
Transportation officials advise motorists to allow extra travel time to navigate the detour route safely.
