No Better Time to Say ‘Be Mine’ to Shelter Dog or Cat

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – It’s better to give than receive, and what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than by showing some love for a shelter dog or cat?

Officials at the Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center are asking residents to donate an item that will make life a little brighter for the dozens of dogs and cats still waiting for their perfect match.

Donating from the shelter’s wish list of toys, treats, and comfort items is guaranteed to make the giver feel as good as the recipient.

Better yet, adopt one of the wide selection of dogs and cats at the Pet Resource Center.

The pet population at the shelter has been increasing in recent weeks and the PRC is now above capacity on dogs and nearing capacity on cats.

All adoption fees are currently waived, and the process is easy; just visit the center at 440 N. Falkenburg or search online to view hundreds of adoptable animals. Due to COVID-19, adoption is by appointment only

Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and at other times when available.

The Pet Resource Center is the only “open-admission” facility in the County, meaning it accepts domestic animals regardless of breed, size, or medical condition.
