Community invited to learn from and engage with experts on topics vital to the city’s future
NORTH PORT, Fla. – The City of North Port is inviting residents to attend the third installment of its panel series, which will focus on environmental resiliency and sustainability. The event, set for Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Suncoast Technical College, will bring together local experts to discuss issues impacting the health of the city’s residents and natural resources.
The panel will feature representatives from the City’s Natural Resources Division, UF/IFAS Extension Sarasota County, People for Trees, and the Environmental Conservancy of North Port. Discussion topics will include resilience planning, water and habitat management, sustainable development, and how the community can collaborate to protect North Port’s unique environment.

“This series is about listening, learning and building trust,” said Stefan Kalev, Manager of the Natural Resources Division. “By bringing together local experts and community partners, we aim to share knowledge and create connections that support a stronger, more sustainable North Port.”
The panel series was created to foster community engagement and provide residents with direct access to local leaders and experts. Previous discussions have centered on infrastructure and public safety.
The Sept. 16 event is free and open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from the panelists, ask questions, and participate in the discussion.
