NOW: Pinellas County Under a Flood Warning Through 11:45 p.m.

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A flood warning has been issued for Pinellas County through 11:45 p.m.tonight. The County also remains under a Tropical Storm and Storm Surge warning.

Storm surge and flood impacts from Tropical Storm Eta are expected to last for the next several hours as Tropical Storm Eta advances north and passes to the west. The County has received multiple reports of flooding along the barrier islands, due to the convergence of storm surge, high tide and rainfall.

Numerous parts of the County are susceptible to flooding. They include the coastal areas along the Anclote River. Crystal Beach, Ozona, coastal Palm Harbor, Oldsmar along upper Tampa Bay, Cross Bayou Pinellas Park, Mariner’s Cove Mobile Home Park, coastal Gulfport, Shore Acres, Tierra Verde, the Pass-a-Grille area and Bay Pines.

Among the current road closures: Courtney Campbell Causeway is closed in both directions, and Duhme Road in Seminole is closed in both directions between American Legion Drive and the Tom Stuart Causeway.

Residents are strongly advised to stay off the roadways, and not drive through standing water under any circumstance.
