TAMPA, Fla. – USF Head Coach Brian Hartline is making a splash on the coaching carousel, announcing the arrival of veteran play-caller Tim Beck as the Bulls’ new offensive coordinator. Joining Beck in Tampa is former Kentucky standout Mike Hartline, who has been tapped as the team’s new quarterbacks coach.

Beck comes to USF with a heavyweight résumé, most recently serving as the head coach at Coastal Carolina. Over three seasons leading the Chanticleers, he secured bowl eligibility every year, including a victory in the 2023 Hawai’i Bowl.

Before taking the reins at Coastal, Beck spent over a decade orchestrating offenses for some of the nation’s premier programs, serving as offensive coordinator at Nebraska, Ohio State, Texas, and NC State.

“Tim has coordinated outstanding offenses at multiple high-level programs and is an exceptional recruiter and leader of young men,” Brian Hartline said. “I have known Tim for many years and his experience as a coordinator, play caller, and head coach will be a tremendous asset as we build a championship program at South Florida.”

Beck’s track record includes guiding Ohio State to the College Football Playoff in 2016 and overseeing high-powered units at Texas and NC State.
