A 29-year-old man from Sandusky, Ohio, is now facing murder charges after the 3-year-old girl he reported missing was found dead near his home.
Devin O’Brien called 911 on Thursday night, claiming his girlfriend’s daughter and his dog had disappeared while he napped.
In the 911 call, O’Brien can be heard expressing his concern, stating that he had searched the neighborhood but couldn’t find the child. He even suggested the possibility that they had been “taken” by someone, according to Law And Crime.

However, authorities now allege that O’Brien was responsible for the girl’s death. An autopsy revealed she had suffered blunt force trauma, died from strangulation, and showed signs of sexual assault.
O’Brien was arrested and is currently being held without bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
