Ohio Woman Struck And Killed In Florida Hit-And-Run

A 63-year-old woman from Ohio was struck and killed by a vehicle that fled the scene early Saturday morning in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The fatal hit-and-run crash occurred around 4 a.m. in the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 441, approaching SE 135th Street.

FHP troopers and investigators reported that the victim was in the inside lane of travel when she was hit. She was later located by a passerby following the crash.

The woman, who has been identified as a resident of Cleveland, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are actively searching for the vehicle and driver responsible. The FHP stated that the vehicle that struck the victim fled the scene in an unknown direction immediately after the collision.
