U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to Del Rio Sector arrested two convicted sex offenders in two separate groups shortly after they illegally entered the United States.

On April 2, at approximately 12:40 p.m., agents from the Brackettville Station, encountered a group of nine subjects attempting to avoid detection by traversing through a local ranch.

During processing, record checks revealed that one subject, a Mexican national, had been convicted in North Carolina of felony indecent liberty with a child. Isaias Hernandez-Ulin, 38, was sentenced to 20 months of incarceration and was deported upon release.

On April 4, just after midnight, agents from the Eagle Pass Station encountered a group of three subjects who had just made an illegal entry into the United States. At the station, it was revealed through record checks, that one subject, a Guatemalan national was convicted in Colorado of a Sex offense in the 4th degree. Delfidio Escobar-Guzman, 43, was sentenced to one-year confinement and later deported.

During the fiscal year 2022, Oct. 1, 2021, through Feb. 28, Del Rio Sector agents have encountered more than 660 criminal migrants.

All subjects are processed in accordance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection policies.
