One Dead In Car Fire Near Tampa International Airport

TAMPA, FL. – Tampa Police and Tampa International Airport Police are investigating a single-vehicle accident along the George J. Bean Parkway that happened overnight.

The vehicle was found fully engulfed in flames when officers arrived on the scene. The sole occupant of the 1998 blue Toyota, an adult male, did not survive the fire.

Investigators are now working to determine what led to the vehicle fire.

Outbound traffic from the airport to I275 and SR 60 was being diverted to an alternative route to exit the property, but all lanes have been reopened since.

It is very early in the investigation and we will update this story as details are released.
