HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. — A multi-agency compliance operation in Hernando County resulted in the arrest of 10 people on active supervision, state and local law enforcement officials announced Wednesday.
The two-day initiative, dubbed “Operation Singularity Edge,” focused on career offenders, registered sex offenders, and registered sex predators living in Hernando County under active supervision with the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC). Law enforcement conducted the sweep to check compliance with state registration laws and probation terms.
During the sweep, investigative teams contacted 38 registered individuals and carried out verification interviews. FDC officers also searched residences and electronic devices.
By the end of the operation, authorities arrested eight registered sex offenders, one registered sex predator, and one career offender.
Authorities identified the individuals arrested as:
- Dustin Browning, 48 (sexual predator)
- Jason Ausburn, 46 (sexual offender)
- Matthew Dorvil, 36 (sexual offender)
- Dale Larkin, 51 (sexual offender)
- Michael Miller, 31 (sexual offender)
- Arthur Morrow, 52 (sexual offender)
- Eric Powell, 56 (sexual offender)
- Benjamin Roman, 61 (sexual offender)
- Vongarret Wilson, 33 (sexual offender)
- Lazaro Campos, 51 (career offender)
The suspects face a range of registry-related charges, such as failing to report updated home addresses, vehicles, phone numbers, email addresses, and online identifiers. Other charges include knowingly submitting false registration information, probation violations, and an outstanding Hernando County warrant for failure to appear.
All 10 individuals were booked into the Hernando County Jail. Officials noted that the investigations remain open and additional charges are possible.
The joint effort included the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s (FDLE) Missing Persons and Offender Enforcement Division, the Orlando Regional Operations Center, the Brooksville Field Office, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Department of Corrections.
The Office of the State Attorney for the Third Judicial Circuit will handle the prosecution of the cases.
