Opinion – James Comey: Corruption No More

May 7, 2020

By Sarah McCormick

James Comey is no stranger when it comes to the press, especially in recent years and months. The American Lawyer turned former Director of the FBI – 7th, to be exact – has developed quite a hate following for himself due to the immeasurable corruption, deceit, destruction of evidence, leaked classified documents, and faux investigation into Hillary Clinton.

One of the more despicable acts committed by Comey was the fact that he blatantly set up and framed General Michael Flynn, who was falsely accused of lying to the FBI regarding conversations with Russia in a ploy to somehow conspire against newly elected President Donald Trump.  President Trump has made mention numerous times in recent weeks that Flynn may well receive a full pardon in the coming weeks.

In addition to setting up an incredibly honorable man, destruction of evidence, having claimed to go through over 650K e-mails from Hillary in the course of 8 days which was determined to be a lie, and much more, he then made statements against the President, calling him a ‘liar’ and ‘untrustworthy’. If that weren’t bad enough, he looked for anything he could to throw Trump under the bus – which led to the Russia investigation, and we all know what happened with that.

James Comey was fired from his position as Director of the FBI on May 9, 2017 just hours after submitting a letter regarding his investigation into Hillary Clinton to the White House.

Comey actually admitted he was wrong in regard to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act in the Russia investigation, stating, “He’s right: there was real sloppiness,” in an interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News Sunday.

Trump has made his distaste for Comey very clear over the years ever more apparent, even saying just a few short weeks before the end of 2019 in a tweet on Twitter, “So now, Comey is admitting he was wrong. Wow, but he’s only doing so because he got caught red-handed. He was actually caught a long time ago. So what are the consequences for his unlawful conduct? Could it be years in jail? Where are the apologies to me and others, Jim?”

Says Rudy Giuliani, former Mayor of New York City and Personal Attorney of President Trump, to Fox News in a recent interview, “It really is one of the more horrible episodes in law enforcement history,” referring to the General Flynn case, also stating “It should be part of the textbooks about what you shouldn’t do.”

Additionally, he states, “That’s a total setup. I don’t understand why the judge hasn’t thrown it out now already, as a deterrent for future Justice Departments to do the same thing. But now with all the other things coming out about this case I can’t believe this judge will not dismiss this case as a violation of due process.”

Now that newly unsealed documents have been released as of 6 days ago in the case of General Flynn, it’s being said that these documents will be the smoking gun in the case against Comey. It’s been a long time coming for all of us waiting and watching on the sidelines, but it looks like hope is right around the corner. Let us hope justice is swift, and the law comes down very hard.

Nobody should be able to destroy the life of another innocent human being and get away with it – and for no good reason other than to overthrow and undermine the President of the United States.

Prison has a special place reserved just for James Comey – and I think I speak for every American citizen who is fully aware of the situation when I say, good riddance.

The clock is ticking, and it is only a matter of time before he will finally be held accountable for the atrocities in which he’s been allowed to get away with all this time. Americans can no longer turn a blind eye to these crimes. We want justice. Justice for Flynn, justice for Trump and justice for America.

Enjoy your freedom while it lasts, Comey, as freedom is only truly afforded to those who abide by the law and don’t live to destroy others’ lives. Just because you worked with the FBI doesn’t give you the right to conspire, lie, plot, destroy, and hurt another human being.

You are what is wrong with America.

With the pardoning of General Flynn on the horizon, let us hope Comey will rightfully be on his way to a long, uncomfortable stay at one of the US’s finest penitentiaries – the sooner, the better.
