ORLANDO, Fla. – A federal jury in Orlando has delivered a guilty verdict against 20-year-old Montrey Roseberry, concluding a trial that exposed a harrowing scheme targeting dozens of minors across social media. U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced the conviction, noting that Roseberry now faces a maximum sentence of life in federal prison.
The jury found Roseberry guilty on several severe charges, including three counts of coercion and enticement of a minor, three counts of producing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and one count of possession.
The evidence presented during the trial painted a picture of a digital predator who utilized deception and psychological warfare to exploit his victims over a ten-month period starting in July 2023.

According to court testimony, Roseberry’s operation relied on a predatory tactic known as “sextortion.” Investigators revealed that he frequently impersonated a woman on social media platforms to gain the trust of young victims.
Once he convinced them to send initial explicit images, the dynamic shifted from manipulation to outright intimidation. Roseberry used the captured material as leverage, threatening to leak the content to the victims’ families, friends, and school classmates if they did not comply with increasingly extreme demands.
The prosecution detailed how Roseberry escalated his threats to ensure compliance. In several instances, he sent victims photos of their own homes and listed the names of their relatives and schools to prove he knew their physical locations. Some victims reported receiving death threats. This pressure was used to force the children into producing more graphic and perverse content involving abuse and dangerous acts.
By the time the FBI intervened in April 2024, the investigation determined that Roseberry had victimized more than 50 children. The case was spearheaded by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and led to a prosecution handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Noah P. Dorman and Kaley Austin-Aronson.
Roseberry remains in custody while awaiting his final judgment. His sentencing hearing is currently on the court’s calendar for May 28, 2026, where a federal judge will determine if he will spend the remainder of his life in prison.
