POLK COUNTY, Fla. – An Orlando man was arrested Tuesday morning following a foot pursuit that began at a Davenport convenience store, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
A Polk County sheriff’s deputy was inside the Wawa store located at 8103 Lake Wilson Road on July 14, 2026, when an employee reported that a woman at the automated teller machine appeared to be crying.
When the deputy approached the woman, she pointed toward her boyfriend, 41-year-old Jordan Christopher Beans, who was standing by the store’s air pump. The woman told the deputy that Beans had battered her and stated that he had active warrants for his arrest.
According to authorities, Beans began walking away as the deputy approached him. He then fled on foot down Lake Wilson Road after being ordered to stop. The deputy pursued Beans on foot and apprehended him shortly thereafter.
A background check confirmed that Beans had two active warrants: one from Polk County for violation of probation regarding charges of battery and resisting, and another from Orange County for fleeing to elude law enforcement.
Upon returning to the store with Beans, deputies discovered that the female victim had left the scene. Investigators were unable to identify her, and Beans declined to provide her information.
Beans was charged with misdemeanor resisting arrest without violence in addition to the two outstanding warrants. He was transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center without further incident.
