An Orlando man has been arrested and charged with using the internet to entice minors into engaging in illicit sexual activity.
U.S. Attorney Roger B. Handberg announced the charges against 25-year-old Italo Rafael Brett Bonini. If convicted, Brett Bonini faces a minimum of 10 years and up to life in federal prison.
According to the criminal complaint, on January 12, 2025, Brett Bonini engaged in a video chat with two prepubescent children in Maryland via Discord, an online communication platform.

During the chat, he enticed both children to expose themselves, and one child complied with his request to display their genitals on screen. Investigators also found messages where Brett Bonini offered the children online currency in exchange for showing their genitalia.
Following the execution of a search warrant at his residence, Brett Bonini admitted to using his computer to communicate with children, stating that he found them easier to talk to. He also admitted to communicating with one of the victims on the date in question.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
