POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A traffic enforcement operation on Interstate 4 led to the arrest of an Orlando woman Saturday night after a Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputy clocked her traveling at over 113 miles per hour.

The incident occurred near Polk City on the evening of Saturday, November 15th, at approximately 10:40 pm. A PCSO deputy was conducting traffic enforcement when they spotted a black BMW motorcycle operating recklessly.

According to the PCSO, the motorcycle was seen “traveling at a very high rate of speed, dangerously weaving through traffic.” The deputy’s radar unit confirmed the extreme speed, measuring the bike at 113 mph—43 mph over the posted 70 mph speed limit.

A traffic stop was initiated, and the deputy identified the operator as 41-year-old Odalys Darelis Roman of Orlando.

When questioned about the excessive speed, Roman reportedly told the deputy that she was on her way home and was attempting to pass the vehicles in order to avoid a collision. She also allegedly requested the deputy to issue her only a warning.

Instead of a warning, Roman was taken into custody. She was transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center and formally charged with two misdemeanor offenses: Reckless Driving (M2) and Dangerous Excessive Speeding (M2). Her motorcycle was subsequently towed from the scene.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office also issued an advisory regarding the nature of the offense: “Don’t drive like that—you could easily get yourself or others injured or killed.”
