HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A 35-year-old Osceola County man is behind bars following a narcotics sting that yielded a full kilogram of cocaine, local authorities reported.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joel Santos Torres on drug trafficking charges after he allegedly set up a major narcotics deal with undercover deputies. Investigators say Santos Torres traveled across county lines specifically to deliver the drugs.
According to officials, the operation was spearheaded by the agency’s Opioid Overdose Investigations Section. Undercover detectives arranged a meeting with Santos Torres at a pre-determined location.

Once he arrived and sold the block of cocaine to the undercover team, deputies closed in and took him into custody without further incident.
Santos Torres now faces multiple felony charges, including cocaine trafficking, alongside other related criminal counts. He remains in local custody as the legal process begins.
