Over 32,000 Florida Firefighters Throw Their Weight Behind Senator Ashley Moody

The Florida Professional Firefighters (FPF) has officially thrown its support behind Senator Ashley Moody, announcing a statewide endorsement for her current campaign.

Representing more than 32,000 firefighters and emergency medical services personnel across more than 150 local affiliates, the FPF’s backing marks the continuation of a long-standing political relationship. The organization previously endorsed Moody during her successful 2022 campaign for Florida Attorney General.

During her tenure, Moody introduced the HELPER Act, a legislative effort designed to provide FHA mortgage assistance to law enforcement officers, firefighters, first responders, and teachers, aiming to make housing more affordable for community servants within the areas they work.

Moody expressed gratitude for the renewed partnership, pointing to the union’s long history in the state.

“Our firefighters run toward danger so the rest of us can run to safety, and for over 80 years, the Florida Professional Firefighters organization has represented that brotherhood with distinction,” Moody said. “To have their trust is a recognition from a family I am proud to be part of. The men and women who risk their lives to protect others are the real heroes in our communities and they deserve a Senator who fights just as hard for them. I am honored to have their support and be their voice in Washington.”

FPF President Wayne ‘Bernie’ Bernoska cited Moody’s legislative track record and public service history as the driving factors behind the decision to back her campaign.

“Senator Ashley Moody has been a steadfast supporter of Florida’s firefighters and paramedics throughout her career in public service,” Bernoska said. “From her time as Florida’s Attorney General to her service in the United States Senate, she has consistently demonstrated a commitment to public safety and to the men and women who answer the call every day. We are proud to endorse her for this role and look forward to continuing our work together on behalf of Florida’s fire rescue and their families.”
