POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Marathon woman faces felony charges in Polk County after deputies tracked down an overdue rental vehicle reported stolen out of Southwest Florida.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested 45-year-old Alexandra Fowler on Monday, August 24, 2026, while assisting the Fort Myers Police Department with a stolen vehicle investigation.
Authorities located a white Hyundai SUV at a property on Webb Road in Winter Haven after the vehicle’s onboard GPS system transmitted its coordinates to investigators. When deputies arrived at the residence, they discovered the SUV alongside several individuals, including Fowler.
According to investigators, Fowler originally leased the vehicle on June 7 and was scheduled to return it to Enterprise Rental Company by July 20. After making multiple unsuccessful attempts to contact Fowler and recover the SUV, the rental company reported the vehicle stolen to Fort Myers police.
Deputies recovered the SUV at the scene and took Fowler into custody without incident. She was booked into the Polk County Sheriff’s Processing Center and charged with third-degree grand theft of a motor vehicle.
