TAMPA, Fla. — Homicide detectives are piecing together a crime scene in Tampa this morning after a shooting left one person dead.
The investigation began just after 2 a.m. Thursday, when officers were called to the 8200 block of North 12th Street following reports of gunfire. According to the Tampa Police Department, arriving units found a victim at the scene who had already died from their injuries.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s name or age, as officials are still working to notify the next of kin.

As of Thursday morning, details remain limited. Police have not released a description of a potential suspect or speculated on a motive for the violence.
