MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A 44-year-old man from Palatka was killed Friday afternoon after his Jeep overturned on State Road 19 in Marion County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The fatal single-vehicle crash occurred around 3:50 p.m. on State Road 19, just south of County Road 314.
Troopers say the man was driving a yellow Jeep Wrangler southbound when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle departed the roadway. The Jeep subsequently overturned, ejecting the driver.
The Palatka resident was rushed to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
According to the official FHP crash report, the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck.
