Palm Harbor Teen Bicyclist Struck By Pickup Truck At Belcher And Colonial Intersection

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A 15-year-old male bicyclist from Palm Harbor sustained serious injuries this morning following a collision with a pickup truck at a Pinellas County intersection, according to a report released by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).

The incident occurred at approximately 7:05 AM at the intersection of Colonial Boulevard and Belcher Road.

According to the FHP report, a Ford F250 driven by a 21-year-old Redington Beach man was traveling eastbound on Colonial Boulevard and was stopped at the intersection, while a bicycle operated by a 15-year-old boy was traveling southbound along the east sidewalk of Belcher Road.

The collision occurred as the pickup truck proceeded eastbound and struck the bicycle when the teen entered the intersection.

The bicyclist suffered serious injuries and was subsequently transported to an area hospital for medical attention. The driver of the Ford F250 was not reported as injured.
