PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco County drivers should prepare for a slow start to the week as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) rolls out an extensive list of roadwork projects starting Sunday, February 15.

Scheduled maintenance and construction efforts will impact several major thoroughfares, including US 19, SR 54, and US 98, with work alternating between daytime flagging and overnight lane restrictions.

The heavily traveled US 19 corridor will see significant activity at two key points. Daytime commuters near Charlene Lane can expect lane closures from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., beginning Monday and lasting through Friday. For those traveling through New Port Richey at night, US 19 at Marine Parkway will undergo nightly closures from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., starting Sunday night and wrapping up by Thursday morning.

Further east, State Road 54 will be a primary focus for work crews. A stretch of the highway from west of Virginia City Drive to Old Mill Pond Drive will see daytime lane closures between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. all week. Additionally, the intersection of SR 54 and US 41 will see eastbound night closures starting at 10 p.m., which may impact late-night travelers and early morning delivery routes through Thursday.

Drivers in more rural sections of the county won’t be exempt from the delays. Both US 98, between CR 54 and Townsend Road, and CR 54 itself, from Flint Drive to Gall Boulevard, will be subject to periodic lane closures and flagging operations.

These projects are scheduled for the standard daytime window of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday. Motorists are advised to stay alert for workers in the roadway and to allow for extra travel time during these peak maintenance hours.
