Pasco County Traffic Alert: Drivers Face Week Of Lane Closures, Oct 12-18

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has issued a comprehensive summary of lane closures across Pasco County for the week of October 12–18, 2025, warning motorists to expect significant delays, especially on major thoroughfares like US 19 and SR 54.

The scheduled closures are part of ongoing construction and maintenance projects.

Drivers are advised to plan extra travel time, seek alternate routes where possible, and exercise caution in work zones.


Major Road Closures and Work Zones

US 19 will see multiple areas affected by lane closures throughout the week:

  • US 19 at Charlene Lane: Day lane closures are scheduled from Monday, October 13, through Friday, October 17, operating between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
  • US 19 at Marine Parkway: Nighttime work will cause lane closures from Sunday, October 12, through Thursday, October 16, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • US 19 from Anclote to north of Louis Avenue: Expect day lane closures from Sunday, October 12, through Thursday, October 16, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

SR 54 is also a major focus, with several lengthy segments facing both day and night closures:

  • SR 54 from west of Virginia City Drive to Old Mill Pond Drive: Night lane closures will run from Sunday, October 12, through Thursday, October 16, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Day lane closures will follow from Monday, October 13, through Friday, October 17, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • SR 54 from Marathon Road to east of Gunn Highway: This section will see extended day closures from Monday, October 13, through Friday, October 17, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Night work is also scheduled from Sunday, October 12, through Thursday, October 16, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • SR 54 from east of Gunn Highway to east of Crossings Boulevard: Day lane closures are set for Monday, October 13, through Friday, October 17, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

US 98 and Local Road Impacts

Motorists on US 98 should prepare for intermittent closures and flagging operations:

  • US 98 between CR 54 and the Hillsborough River bridge: Periodic lane closures and flagging operations will occur during the day from Monday, October 13, through Friday, October 17, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • US 98 approximately halfway between CR 54 and the Hillsborough River bridge: Night lane closures and flagging operations are scheduled from Sunday, October 12, through Tuesday, October 14, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

A significant, long-term closure remains in effect at the south end of 7th Street at US 98/US 301. Access to and from US 98/US 301 is closed 24 hours per day and detoured to the US 98 Bypass. This closure is expected to last through approximately February 2026.

Additionally, Clinton Avenue between US 301 and Cindy Lane will have periodic lane closures and flagging operations from Monday, October 13, through Friday, October 17, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
