PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco County commuters should brace for a week of traffic disruptions as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has announced a series of lane closures for maintenance and construction projects from September 21 to September 27, 2025.

Motorists traveling on some of the county’s busiest thoroughfares will be affected, with work scheduled on US 19, US 98, and SR 54. The closures include both daytime and nighttime work, as well as a long-term closure on 7th Street.

On US 19 at Charlene Lane, drivers can expect lane closures from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday, September 22, through Friday, September 26.

Further north, US 98 in the Hillsborough River bridge area, approximately 1.5 miles north of CR 54, will have periodic lane closures and flagging operations. This work is scheduled for Monday, September 22, through Friday, September 26, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

SR 54 will see the most extensive activity. From west of Virginia City Drive to Old Mill Pond Drive, lane closures are planned from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. A separate, and more complex, project will affect SR 54 from Marathon Road to east of Gunn Highway, with both day and night closures. Night lane closures will run from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday, September 21, through Thursday, September 25. Day closures will follow from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday, September 22, through Friday, September 26.

Just east of that project, SR 54 from east of Gunn Highway to east of Crossings Boulevard will have night lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

A longer-term closure is in effect on SR 54 west of Lake Polo Drive, where the left turn-lane will be closed around-the-clock from Sunday, September 21, through Saturday, September 27.

Finally, a significant long-term closure remains on 7th Street at the south end where it meets US 98/US 301. Access to and from these major routes is closed 24 hours a day and detoured to the US 98 Bypass. This closure is expected to last through approximately February 2026.
