PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Commuters in Pasco County should prepare to pad their travel times as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 rolls out a series of lane closures and traffic shifts starting Sunday, February 22.

Scheduled maintenance and construction projects will affect several major arteries, including US 19, US 98, and State Road 54, through the end of the month.

The heavy lifting on US 19 starts at Marine Parkway, where crews will be working under the lights. Expect night lane closures from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday night and running through Thursday, February 26. Drivers moving through the Charlene Lane intersection on US 19 will face a different schedule, with daytime lane closures set from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting Monday and lasting through Friday.

Further east, those traveling US 98 between CR 54 and Townsend Road will encounter flagging operations and periodic lane closures. These shifts are slated for Monday through Friday, primarily during the heart of the day from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Similar daytime restrictions will affect State Road 54 between Virginia City Drive and Old Mill Pond Drive, as well as County Road 54 from Flint Drive to US 301. In both areas, drivers should watch for flaggers and equipment between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. throughout the work week.

A more complex traffic pattern is expected on Clinton Avenue. Between US 301 and Kayleigh Court, motorists will navigate a mix of lane closures and traffic shifts.

This specific work is scheduled as an overnight push, beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, and wrapping up by 6:30 a.m. on Friday morning. Local authorities recommend staying alert for changing signage and slowing down in work zones to ensure the safety of both crews and fellow drivers.
