Drivers across Pasco County will encounter widespread road work, intermittent lane closures, and nighttime detours this week as the Florida Department of Transportation carries out scheduled maintenance and construction projects between Sunday, August 23, and Saturday, August 29.
State Road 52 will see some of the most significant impacts. Westbound motorists traveling near State Road 589 (Suncoast Parkway) will face continuous around-the-clock restrictions on the left lane from east to west of the parkway until further notice.
Additionally, the eastbound left turn lane from SR 52 onto northbound SR 589 will remain partially closed at the west end around-the-clock until further notice.
Farther east on SR 52, overnight work between Tradeway Boulevard/Pasco Road and the area west of Interstate 75 will shut down lanes from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Sunday night, August 23, through Friday morning, August 28. During the same overnight window, crews will close one of two lanes on the SR 52 westbound entrance ramp to southbound I-75.
Ramp traffic along the Suncoast Parkway will also be affected. The southbound SR 589 exit ramp to SR 52 will have part or all of its right-turn lane closed from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday, August 24, through Saturday, August 29, though turns will remain available.
Several major north-south corridors will operate with daytime restrictions. Along US 41 (Land O’ Lakes Boulevard), lane closures at Lake Patience Road will run Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. On US 98, periodic lane closures and flagging operations are scheduled between CR 54 and Townsend Road from Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. On US 301 at Wire Road, the northbound right lane will close Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In eastern Pasco, SR 39 near the Hillsborough River bridge north of Jerry Road will have flagging operations and periodic lane closures Wednesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
State Road 54 drivers should plan around both daytime and nighttime work. Night closures at Altamont Lane will run from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday through Thursday night. At Henley Road, daytime lane closures will be in place Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
In the Wesley Chapel area, northbound Bruce B. Downs Boulevard (CR 581) between SR 56 and south of CR 54 (Wesley Chapel Boulevard) will have lane closures from 8:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday night.
To accommodate a traffic shift on Clinton Avenue between Cindy Lane and US 301, crews will conduct lane closures and flagging operations Wednesday and Thursday nights from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
For outdoor recreational users, access to the Suncoast Trail Trailhead at Touchpoint Drive remains closed around-the-clock through summer 2027.

- SR 54 at Henley Rd: Lane closures Monday, Aug. 24 – Friday, Aug. 28 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- SR 589 Southbound Exit Ramp to SR 52: Right turn lane partially or fully closed (turns remain open) Monday, Aug. 24 – Saturday, Aug. 29 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
