PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation just released the schedule for roadwork, and it looks like orange cones will be popping up on several major routes. If you travel on US 19, SR 54, or US 98, you might want to leave the house a few minutes early.

One of the busiest spots will be US 19. If you are driving near Charlene Lane, expect crews to be working during the day from Monday, February 2, through Friday, February 6.

Those closures run from 8 in the morning until 6 in the evening. Night owls aren’t off the hook either. Further down US 19 at Marine Parkway, there will be night closures starting Sunday, February 1. This work happens between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. and wraps up by Friday morning.

State Road 54 is also seeing plenty of action. During the day, workers will be on the stretch from west of Virginia City Drive over to Old Mill Pond Drive. You can expect lane closures there all week, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you are driving eastbound on SR 54 near US 41, watch out for night work. Those lanes will close overnight from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Sunday night.

For those who use the Suncoast Parkway, pay close attention on Tuesday, February 3. There is a specific closure on SR 52 right at the entrance ramp for the southbound Suncoast Parkway. It isn’t a full road block, but the turn lanes to get onto the ramp will be closed.

You can still access the ramp from other lanes, but it might be confusing. This happens during the day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and picks up again that night from 9 p.m. until early Wednesday morning.

Finally, keep an eye out for flaggers directing traffic on US 98 and County Road 54. On US 98, the work zone is between CR 54 and Townsend Road. On CR 54, it is from west of Flint Drive over to Gall Boulevard. Both spots will have periodic lane closures from Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Since flaggers are stopping cars manually, these areas can get backed up quickly, so patience is key.
