PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Drivers across Pasco County should prepare for roadway delays and detours next week as the Florida Department of Transportation District 7 conducts scheduled maintenance and construction work from Sunday, August 16 through Saturday, August 22, 2026.
Major state roads including State Road 52, State Road 54, US 41, US 98, US 301, and the Suncoast Parkway (SR 589) will see scheduled daytime, nighttime, and around-the-clock lane restrictions throughout the week.
On US 41 (Land O’ Lakes Boulevard) at Lake Patience Road, crews will close lanes Monday, August 17 through Friday, August 21, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily. Along US 98, periodic lane closures and flagging operations will take place between CR 54 and Townsend Road from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Farther north, US 301 at the Withlacoochee River bridge on the Pasco-Hernando county line will see lane closures and flagging operations on Monday, August 17, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Overnight work is scheduled on State Road 39 from north of Central Avenue to US 301, with lane closures and flagging operations running from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday, August 16 through Thursday night, August 20.
Multiple construction projects are also set along State Road 52. The westbound left lane from east of SR 589 to west of SR 589 remains closed around-the-clock until further notice, and the eastbound left turn lane onto northbound SR 589 has a partial closure on its west end around-the-clock until further notice. Between Tradeway Boulevard/Pasco Road and the area west of I-75, SR 52 will have nighttime lane closures Sunday through Friday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Additionally, one of the two lanes on the SR 52 westbound entrance ramp to southbound I-75 will close nightly Sunday through Friday between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.
On State Road 54, nighttime lane closures will take place at Altamont Lane from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Thursday night. Daytime lane closures are scheduled at SR 54 and Henley Road from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Several ramp operations will impact travel along SR 589 (Suncoast Parkway) from Monday, August 17 through Saturday, August 22, between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. each day:
- The SR 54 entrance ramp to SR 589 will have a partial closure of the right shoulder and merge lane, though full access to SR 589 will remain open.
- The southbound SR 589 exit ramp to SR 54 will have a partial right turn lane closure, with turns remaining accessible.
- The southbound SR 589 exit ramp to SR 52 will see part or all of the right turn lane closed, with turns still available to motorists.
Pedestrians and cyclists should also note that access to the Suncoast Trail Trailhead at Touchpoint Drive remains closed around-the-clock through summer 2027.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, observe posted work zone speed limits, and watch for road workers and flagging crews throughout these designated zones.
