PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 has released its list of roadwork for the week of January 25 through January 31, 2026, and it looks like some busy spots are going to see lane closures.

Whether you commute during the day or drive late at night, crews will be out on major roads like US 19, US 98, and State Road 54. Here is a breakdown of where you can expect orange cones and brake lights so you can plan ahead.

What to Watch for on US 19

Two main spots on US 19 will be affected, but at very different times of the day.

  • At Charlene Lane: Expect daytime lane closures. Crews will be working Monday, Jan. 26 through Friday, Jan. 30 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • At Marine Parkway: This work will happen overnight. Lane closures are scheduled from Sunday, Jan. 25 through Thursday, Jan. 29. The lanes will close at 9 p.m. and reopen by 6 a.m. the next morning.

Delays Expected on US 98

There is quite a bit of activity planned for US 98, mostly involving lane closures and flagging operations where traffic directors might stop cars briefly.

  • Near the Hillsborough River Bridge: Work is happening on the stretch between the bridge (north of CR 54) and Janmar Road. This is a night job, running Sunday through Wednesday nights from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • From CR 54 to the Bridge: Just south of the previous spot, between CR 54 and the river bridge, you’ll see periodic lane closures during the day. This runs Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Old Lakeland Highway to Townsend Road: Further down the road, expect similar periodic lane closures and flagging during the day, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Heavy Work Zones on State Road 54

State Road 54 seems to be the busiest spot for roadwork this week, with crews working multiple sections.

  • Virginia City Drive to Old Mill Pond Drive: This area will be active around the clock. Night closures run Sunday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Daytime closures happen Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Marathon Road to East of Gunn Highway: Look for lane closures here during the day, Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • East of Gunn Highway to Crossings Boulevard: This stretch will also see daytime closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • At US 41: If you are heading eastbound on SR 54 near the US 41 intersection, watch for night closures. These will happen Sunday through Thursday nights from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Other County Road Updates

  • CR 54 (from Flint Drive to US 301/Gall Blvd): Drivers here should expect flagging operations and lane closures during the workday. This runs Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Drivers are reminded to slow down in these construction zones and watch out for workers close to the road. Schedules can sometimes change due to bad weather or unexpected issues, so keeping an eye on local traffic reports is always a good idea.
