PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Drivers in Pasco County should prepare for significant travel disruptions next week as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 enacts multiple lane closures and a long-term detour across major roadways from Sunday, November 9, through Saturday, November 15, 2025.
The construction schedule primarily affects US 19, SR 54, and US 98, with both daytime and nighttime work planned. Motorists are strongly advised to seek alternate routes, plan for extended travel times, and exercise caution in work zones.
US 19
Work on US 19 will involve both day and night closures at several critical points:
- Night Closures at Marine Parkway: Sunday, November 9 through Thursday, November 13 nights, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Day Closures (Multiple Locations): Monday, November 10 through Friday, November 14, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. These daytime impacts will be felt at:
- Charlene Lane
- From Anclote to north of Louis Ave
- At Lange Road, Panaroma Ave, Tahitian Circle, and Camry Drive
State Road 54 (SR 54)
Extensive work is scheduled along SR 54, involving day and night construction:
- Night Closures (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.): Sunday, November 9 through Thursday, November 13 nights, between:
- Marathon Road and east of Gunn Highway
- East of Gunn Highway to east of Crossings Boulevard
- Day Closures (Multiple Segments): Monday, November 10 through Friday, November 14:
- From west of Virginia City Drive to Old Mill Pond Drive (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- From Marathon Road to east of Gunn Highway (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
- From east of Gunn Highway to east of Crossings Boulevard (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Single Lane Closure: A brief but impactful right lane eastbound closure is scheduled near the Village Lakes Shopping Center Drive (from east of US 41 to west of Knight Road) from 9 p.m. Sunday, November 9 to 3 a.m. Monday, November 10.
US 98
Drivers on US 98 will encounter periodic delays due to flagging operations for road work:
- Periodic Lane Closures/Flagging: Monday, November 10 through Friday, November 14, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in two sections:
- Between CR 54 and the Hillsborough River bridge
- Between Old Lakeland Highway and Townsend Road
Long-Term Road Access Changes
An ongoing closure is in effect at 7th Street (south end) at US 98/US 301. Access to and from US 98/US 301 at this intersection remains closed and detoured to the US 98 Bypass 24 hours per day. This long-term closure is anticipated to continue through approximately December 2025.
