PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Drivers across Pasco County should prepare for a series of traffic shifts and delays as the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 begins a heavy week of maintenance and construction starting March 15, 2026.
According to the latest FDOT release, several major arteries, including US 19 and US 98, will see significant disruptions ranging from overnight flagging to around-the-clock closures.
The most immediate impact begins on Friday, March 13, on US 98 between County Road 54 and Old Lakeland Highway. This stretch will be fully closed and detoured starting at 8 p.m. and will not reopen until 6 a.m. on Monday, March 16.
Following this full closure, the area between CR 54 and Townsend Road will shift to periodic lane closures and flagging operations from March 16 through March 20, specifically between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Commuters on US 19 will face two different sets of schedules depending on their location. Near Charlene Lane, crews will be active during the day from Monday through Friday, with lane closures expected between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Further south at Marine Parkway, the work shifts to the night shift to accommodate heavier traffic volumes; lane closures there are scheduled from Sunday night, March 15, through Thursday night, March 19, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.
In Zephyrhills, motorists traveling through the intersection of CR 54 and 6th Street should watch for law enforcement officers directing traffic on Sunday and Monday nights.
This manual traffic control will take place from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. Additionally, the stretch of CR 54 from west of Flint Drive to US 301 will experience daytime flagging and lane closures from March 16 to March 20, starting at 7 a.m. each morning.
One of the most significant long-term changes involves the State Road 575 intersection on the east side of US 301. FDOT has confirmed that access to and from US 301 at this point will remain closed around-the-clock through July 2026.
Local authorities recommend that drivers plan for extra travel time or seek alternate routes, such as using State Road 52 or State Road 54, to avoid the heaviest congestion during peak hours.
