Pasco County Traffic Alert: Massive Slate Of Lane Closures Set To Hit Next Week

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco County commuters are facing a heavy dose of orange cones and flashing signs over the coming week. The Florida Department of Transportation District 7 has laid out a widespread construction schedule stretching from Sunday, May 31 through Saturday, June 6, 2026, touching nearly every major artery in the county.

The state is tackling work on several high-volume routes, starting with Interstate 75. Drivers taking the northbound Exit 285 ramp to State Road 52 will lose one of the two available lanes overnight. This closure runs from Sunday, May 31 through Thursday, June 4, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. While turns will remain available in both directions, nighttime delays are highly likely.

Major daytime delays are also brewing along US 41 (Land O’ Lakes Boulevard). Crews will close lanes at the Lake Patience Road intersection from Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 5, spanning right through the peak driving windows from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Further east, US 98 will see two distinct construction zones. Between County Road 54 and Townsend Road, drivers should expect periodic lane closures and active flagging operations during the day, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Meanwhile, the US 98 Dade City Bypass—stretching from the 7th Street roundabout area down to just south of Lock Street—will feature single-lane closures overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

State Road 52 is facing a massive overhaul with multiple long-term, 24/7 restrictions. The westbound left lane from east of the Suncoast Parkway (SR 589) to west of the parkway is closed around-the-clock until further notice. Additionally, the eastbound SR 52 left-turn lane onto the northbound Suncoast Parkway is partially closed at its west end on a continuous, 24-hour basis. For those traveling farther east on SR 52 between I-75 and Tradeway Boulevard/Pasco Road, expect eastbound-only lane closures at night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.

Drivers utilizing the Suncoast Parkway itself will need to stay alert at the southbound exit ramp to State Road 52. Part or all of the right-turn lane will be blocked off from Monday, June 1 through Saturday, June 6, between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., though turns onto SR 52 will remain possible.

Several other prominent state and county roads are packed into this week’s maintenance schedule:

  • US 301: The southbound right lane from Kingsmere Road to Wire Road remains locked down in an around-the-clock closure until further notice.
  • State Road 54: Two separate intersection projects will disrupt traffic. The intersection at Altamont Lane will see night lane closures from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. The intersection at Henley Road will undergo daytime closures from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • State Road 39: On the south side of the Chancey Road intersection, motorists will encounter night lane closures and flagging from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Monday through Friday nights.
  • County Road 54: Flagging operations and lane closures will slow down traffic from west of Flint Drive to US 301 (Gall Boulevard) overnight from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday.
  • Old Lakeland Highway (Alternate CR 35): Periodic daytime lane closures and flagging will occur in the US 98 overpass area from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

No detour routes or specific project details were detailed in the state’s release. Local transportation officials advise motorists to plan for extra travel time, slow down in active work zones, and expect sudden stops across these corridors.
