Drivers across Pasco County can expect temporary delays, lane closures, and flagging operations starting Sunday, August 9, as Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 7 crews begin a full week of maintenance and construction projects across several major corridors.
The planned closures run through Saturday, August 15, with work taking place during daytime hours, overnight, and continuous around-the-clock shifts.
Daytime travelers will encounter work along several major routes. Lane closures on US 41 at Lake Patience Road and SR 54 at Henley Road are set for Monday, August 10, through Friday, August 14, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Along US 98, periodic lane closures and flagging operations will occur between County Road 54 and Townsend Road from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Interchange ramp maintenance along State Road 589 (Suncoast Parkway) will also take place during daytime hours from Monday, August 10, through Saturday, August 15, between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
The SR 54 entrance ramp onto southbound SR 589 will have a partial closure of the right shoulder and merge lane, though full access to the parkway will remain open. During the same daytime hours, the southbound SR 589 exit ramps to both SR 54 and SR 52 will experience partial right-turn lane closures, though turning movements will stay accessible to drivers.
Several routes are scheduled for overnight work to minimize daytime traffic disruption. Nighttime lane closures and flagging operations are planned on SR 39 from the Hillsborough River bridge to north of Central Avenue from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., starting Sunday night, August 9, and ending Thursday morning, August 13. Similar night work will affect SR 54 at Altamont Lane during the same 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. hours. Additionally, night closures along SR 52 from Tradeway Boulevard/Pasco Road to west of Interstate 75 are scheduled for Sunday through Thursday nights from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
FDOT also noted several long-term and around-the-clock traffic modifications. The westbound left lane of SR 52 near SR 589 remains closed continuously until further notice, along with a partial closure of the eastbound SR 52 left-turn lane onto northbound SR 589.
Nearby, access to the Suncoast Trail Trailhead at Touchpoint Drive remains closed 24 hours a day as part of an ongoing project running through summer 2027.
