PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Drivers in Pasco County should prepare for overnight delays as construction crews plan to close two major ramps at the Interstate 75 and State Road 52 interchange.
Depending on the weather, crews will close either the northbound I-75 exit ramp to SR 52 (Exit 285) or the westbound SR 52 entrance ramp onto southbound I-75. The closures are scheduled to take place between 8 p.m. tonight, Thursday, July 16, and 5:30 a.m. Friday, July 17.
While workers will close only one ramp at a time, the exact timing of each restriction remains fluid. Because of this unpredictability, traffic officials advise motorists to expect both closures during the nine-and-a-half-hour window and plan to use detour routes. Crews will place temporary signs around the interchange to alert drivers of the closures and guide them through the designated detours.
For the northbound I-75 Exit 285 closure, drivers will be directed to take northbound I-75 to Exit 282. At the top of the ramp, motorists must turn left onto Overpass Road to head west, then turn right onto Old Pasco Road to travel north back to SR 52.
For the westbound SR 52 entrance ramp closure onto southbound I-75, traffic will be routed west on SR 52 past the closed ramp. Drivers will then make a U-turn at the Old Pasco Road traffic signal, travel east on SR 52, and turn right onto the open entrance ramp to access southbound I-75.
