Pasco County Urges Residents To Prepare For Storm, Sandbag Sites Now Open

Tropical Depression 9 is roughly 1,200 miles southeast of Florida, and National Hurricane Center models show Pasco County is included in the five-day forecast. 

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Tropical Depression 9 is roughly 1,200 miles southeast of Florida, and National Hurricane Center models show Pasco County is included in the five-day forecast. 

Pasco County Emergency Management is monitoring the storm and working with other county departments to prepare drainage areas and sandbag stations.

Pasco County could experience strong wind, heavy rain and storm surge beginning early next week, and we urge you to prepare this weekend for the possibility of severe weather:

  • Secure loose items around your home & yard: lawn chairs, umbrellas, trash cans, etc.
  • Have a plan for you and your family: accommodations, child/elder/pet care, etc.
  • Pack your Disaster Kit with essential supplies for your family & pets

  • Monitor local media & weather outlets for storm updates

Sandbag sites are self-serve and open 24/7 to Pasco County residents.  Sandbags are provided, but you must bring your own shovels to fill the bags.  Crews will restock sand daily.
