NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — The search for a missing 54-year-old man in Pasco County has come to a sad conclusion.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office confirmed Wednesday that Michael Vogt, who had been the subject of an urgent missing person alert, was found deceased.

Vogt was reported missing earlier this week after last being seen around noon on Jan. 13 in the Dillion Street area of New Port Richey. Authorities had previously flagged him as “missing and endangered,” asking the public to look out for his gray Chevy van.

Law enforcement has not released further details regarding the circumstances of the discovery or the cause of death at this time.


ORIGINAL ALERT: Authorities in Pasco County are asking for the public’s urgent assistance in locating a 54-year-old man who vanished Tuesday afternoon and is considered missing and endangered.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office says Michael Vogt was last seen around noon on Jan. 13 near Dillion Street in New Port Richey. Deputies have not released specific details regarding the circumstances of his disappearance.

Vogt is described as 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 240 pounds. He is bald with blue eyes.

At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt, light faded jeans, and black Nike sneakers.

Investigators believe Vogt may be traveling in a gray Chevrolet van with Florida license plate KWKX78.

Officials are urging anyone who spots Vogt or the gray Chevy van to act immediately.
